This update covered two relevant Romanian tax and support measures published in June 2021.
1. HoReCa grant procedure
Order of the Ministry of Economy no. 1008/2021 amended the implementation procedure for the state-aid scheme under Government Ordinance no. 224/2020, concerning financial support for tourism, food service and event businesses affected by COVID-19.
The IT application was expected to check automatically whether the applicant had authorized the eligible CAEN codes. Where discrepancies appeared, clarifications could be requested.
2. Postponed tax-procedure deadlines
Government Ordinance no. 51/2021 postponed certain deadlines related to amendments to the Fiscal Procedure Code. The postponed measures concerned, among other things, the handling of taxpayer appeals and the transfer of specialized staff from ANAF to the Ministry of Finance.
The application of those measures was postponed until 1 October 2021.
